Audiology
Hearing tests and solutions for your hearing health.
Audiology in Koekelberg: what is it?
Audiology assesses hearing and offers solutions when it declines. The audiologist carries out hearing tests (audiometry), selects and adjusts hearing aids, and follows them up over time.
At Centre Médical Koekelberg, an audiologist with a master’s degree and more than eight years’ experience holds consultations on Saturday mornings, in French, Dutch or English.
What we offer
Who is it for?
- Difficulty following a conversation, especially in noisy places
- Tinnitus (ringing, buzzing)
- Hearing check-ups, especially after age 50
- Trial, fitting and adjustment of hearing aids
- Follow-up for people who already wear hearing aids
What happens at the first appointment?
The audiologist asks about the difficulties you experience day to day, then carries out tests in a sound booth (tones and speech understanding). The results are explained to you straight away. If hearing aids are recommended, a trial period is arranged. Bring any ENT test results and your current hearing aids.
Reimbursement
INAMI/RIZIV (national health insurance) and your mutuelle (health insurance fund) contribute to the purchase of hearing aids, with a prescription from an ENT doctor, subject to conditions on hearing loss and renewal. The audiologist helps you with the paperwork.

Frequently asked questions
Are hearing aids reimbursed in Belgium?
Yes, partly: INAMI/RIZIV contributes with a prescription from an ENT doctor if the hearing loss meets the criteria, and some mutuelles add to this. The audiologist helps you with the formalities.
Do I need to see an ENT doctor before the audiologist?
You can have a hearing test directly with the audiologist. For reimbursed hearing aids, a prescription from an ENT doctor is required.
When can I see the audiologist in Koekelberg?
The audiologist sees patients on Saturday mornings from 9 am to 1 pm, by appointment.
